When you pay for your ALX programme, there are three separate confirmations to look for. They don’t all appear at the same time — and knowing the difference will save you a lot of worry.
The three signs of a successful payment
A confirmation from your payment provider. This is an SMS for mobile money (MPESA, MTN Momo, Telebirr), an email receipt for card payments, or an in-app confirmation from Paystack, Flutterwave, Chapa, Ozow, Stripe, Fawry, or CashPlus.
A transaction reference / ID. Every payment method gives you one — an MPESA code, a Paystack or Flutterwave reference, a Chapa transaction ID, or a bank reference. Save this number. It is the single most useful thing to have if you ever need to contact Support.
Your ALX dashboard updating to “Paid” or “Active”. This is the last of the three to update because your payment provider and the ALX platform are separate systems that sync automatically — and that sync isn't instant.
