I paid but i'm seeing a paywall

You’re blocked from your course content, units or live sessions despite having paid. Here’s how to get back in — and when to flag it as urgent.

This is different from a payment simply not showing on a summary screen. A paywall means you’re actively blocked from opening your course. The good news: when you’ve genuinely paid, this is almost always a sync delay between your payment confirmation and your access permissions — not a problem with the payment itself.

Get back in — step by step

  1. Confirm your payment actually went through. You should have a provider confirmation (SMS, email or in-app receipt) and a transaction reference. If you don’t have either, start with the article “My payment isn’t reflecting” instead — the payment may not have completed.

  2. Log out fully and log back in. Access permissions often update on login even when they haven’t updated on a page you already had open. This fixes a large share of paywall cases on its own.

  3. Try a different device or browser to rule out a local caching issue.

  4. Note the scope of the block. Is your entire account blocked, or just one course or unit? This helps Support narrow the cause quickly.

  5. Still blocked? Raise a ticket immediately — and mark it urgent. Don’t keep retrying for days. Being locked out during an active cohort means you’re falling behind on content and live sessions while you wait, so this is treated as a priority issue.

WHY THIS ONE SHOULDN’T WAIT

Unlike a billing question, a paywall stops you learning right now. If you’ve confirmed your payment went through and a fresh login doesn’t clear it, flag it to Support straight away — say clearly in your subject line that you are blocked despite having paid, especially if you’re missing live sessions.

What to include in your ticket

INCLUDE THIS IN YOUR TICKET

  • Your transaction reference / ID

  • The exact amount paid

  • The date and approximate time of payment

  • The payment method and gateway used (e.g. MPESA via Paystack, Chapa/Telebirr, card via Stripe)

  • Your programme

  • Whether the block affects your whole account or one specific course/unit

  • A screenshot of the paywall message
