How do I get a receipt or proof of payment

Where to find your payment confirmation and how to request a formal proof-of-payment document for a sponsor, employer or other official use.

Check your email and SMS first

Most payment providers — Paystack, Flutterwave, Chapa, MPESA, MTN MoMo, Stripe, Ozow, Fawry and CashPlus — send an automatic confirmation at the moment of payment. For everyday purposes, that confirmation plus your transaction reference is your receipt:

• Mobile money (MPESA, MTN MoMo, Telebirr): the confirmation SMS with the transaction code.

• Card payments (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave): the email receipt from the gateway or the entry on your card statement.

• Kiosk/voucher payments (Fawry, CashPlus): the kiosk or app receipt with its reference number.

• Bank transfer: your bank’s transaction confirmation or stamped deposit slip.
